s) n. pl. u·rus·es It is also an EU funded project coordinated by Alberto Sanfeliu from Barcelona in network robotics for mobility
The general objective of the project is the development of new ways of cooperation
between network robots and human beings and/or the
environment in urban areas. The focus of the project is in urban
pedestrian areas, an important topic in Europe where there
exists a growing interest in reducing the number of cars in the
streets and improving the quality of life

AWARE project: cooperating autonomous robots with WSN

Within the EU sponsored project AWARE project, autonomous robotics systems and wireless sensor networks are jointly considered. The project involves the development of co-operative robotics functionalities.
The platform will offer self-deployment, selfconfiguration and self-repairing features by
means of cooperating autonomous helicopters. These features are highly relevant
in natural and urban environments without pre-existing infrastructure or in situations where the infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
Here below you can find the highl level architecture of the system

Two validation scenarios are being considered:
DisasterManagement/CivilSecurity and Filming applications.
The project is coordinated by Anibal Ollero from AICIA, Sevilla, Spain
